History

Our vineyards are located near the extinct Teroa volcano, in San Clemente, 270 km south of Santiago, site where 3 generations have have been producing high quality grapes, neat expression of its terroir.

Teroa was also the battle ground where in 1556 the mapuche chief, cacique Lautaro defeated the army of the Spanish conquerors.

Our Winemaker

Carolina Vasquez leads the winemaking team at Teroa Wines. She graduated as Oenologist from the Catholic University of Chile in 1997. She has over 20 years of experience in winemaking in Chile, but also in Australia, France and Italy. She shares her winemaking talent as well, as a professor at the Sommelier School of Chile.

She understands and reads well the different terroirs, sub-climates and picks the best varieties that grow in every corner of the Maipo, Cachapoal, Rapel, Colchagua and Curico valleys, deploying all her knowledge and experience to develop a wide variety of wines in all categories.

One of Carolina’s first tasks was the creation of our icon and high category wines that have been successful and recognized since their international launch. Distinctive character!

Winemaking Philosophy

At Teroa we make wine the traditional way, caring for the land, the environment and its people.

Good wine is born at the vineyards. Terroir and field management are key to get high quality grapes, essential raw material to passionately make outstanding wines that are recognized throughout the world.
